Description

The tagua nuts for the SERRV jewelry collection are gathered from the Ecuadorian rainforest floor, providing sustainable employment to local residents and protection for endangered palm trees.

Better known as "vegetable ivory," tagua nut jewelry is a vegan- and eco-friendly alternative to ivory from elephants and other creatures, helping protect both these beautiful animals and their habitats. Each ethically-made piece is crafted from the hard, white, edible endosperm of the tagua palm, which is native to Ecuador. SERRV  artisan partners gather these nuts from the rainforest floor, then dry, carve, and dye each one into fair trade jewelry. Because each piece is crafted from real tagua nuts, the shape, color, and grain will vary from slice to slice, making statement necklaces that are truly one-of-a-kind!

Each ethically-sourced tagua jewelry piece makes an impact on artisans in Ecuador, helping them earn a vital income and gain access to international trade markets.

Special Instructions
