Refugee Protection International (RPI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in Belmont that builds partnerships with community groups, hospitals, and shelters to assist conflict-affected civilians in Syria and Ukraine.

This beautiful doll was crocheted by Syrian women affected by war and earthquakes. These women are being trained in a self-reliance, cash-for-work program through RPI. In the Syrian refugee camps, mothers dedicate a portion of their earnings from these dolls toward refugee-led, non-formal primary schools for their children. These mothers are often the only ones left to support their families in the impoverished camps and villages of northwest Syria.
