Peter Purinton founded Purinton Tree Farm, located in the foothills of Huntington, Vermont. Peter Purinton created Purinton Maple in 1979. Peter planted his first crop of Christmas Trees in 1990. He started to sell the trees in 1996. Purinton Maple changed its name to Purinton Maple and Tree Farm. Peter, his wife Carla, and their children manage the farm, which now has 14,000 balsam fir trees. Purinton's offers maple products, trees, wreaths, and kissing balls.
