Description

Reverie II Tasting Certificate for six (6) Guests including a Trio of Reverie II Wines.

Reverie II is a family-run winery located in its own little valley on the eastern hillsides of St. Helena. Situated at the base of Howell Mountain, it boasts sweeping views of vineyards and the Mayacama Mountains to the west.

Reverie II focuses on single-vineyard wines, producing three Bordeaux-style mountain wines along with three unique grape varietals rarely found in Napa Valley. Our wines are limited in production and availability, and it is with our greatest pleasure that we share them with you during your tasting.

1 bottle of 2021 Reverie II Cabernet Franc -750ml

Name of Winery: Reverie II

Bottle Size: 750mL

Number of Bottles: One

Varietal: Cabernet Franc

Appellation: Kenefick Ranch

TASTING NOTES -

A dynamic and formidable expression of Cabernet Franc from one of Napa Valley’s most heralded sites that puts a focus on this varietal. Dense aromas of black plums, black raspberries, chocolate-covered espresso beans, wet minerals, truffles, and purple flowers lead into an unctuous mouthful of juicy blackberries, ripe raspberries, crushed gravel, strawberries, and cream. Formidable tannins reinforce the pedigree of this single vineyard, drenching the senses in exquisite fruit and powerful structure, all leading to a lengthy, mineral-laced finish that lingers on the palate for what seems like an eternity.

1 bottle of 2021 Reverie II Mountain Cuvee

Name of Winery: Reverie II

Bottle Size: 750mL

Number of Bottles: One

Varietal: Red Blend

Appellation: Sierra Foothills

TASTING NOTES -

Grown at over 2,600 feet in the volcanic and limestone-rich soils of the Red Rock Vineyard, our small-production Mountain Cuvee possesses the power and grace of a classic Bordeaux-style blend with every sip. Layers of energetic red raspberries, fresh plums, dried flowers, incense, wet stone, and baking spices lead into a sensual palate full of dark red fruits that continues to evolve with time in the glass. Additional notes of spiced plums, fresh strawberries, blonde tobacco, leather, pralines, and nougat frame a luscious, fruit-focused finish. A beautiful tension is exhibited throughout the entire drinking experience, reinforcing the pedigree of this single site, while showcasing the concentration of flavor that only comes from fruit grown at extreme elevation.

1 bottle of 2021 Reverie II Tempranillo

Name of Winery: Reverie II

Bottle Size: 750mL

Number of Bottles: One

Varietal: Tempranillo

Appellation: Sierra Foothills

TASTING NOTES -

Grown at over 2,600 feet above sea level, this single-vineyard Tempranillo reinforces the quality of fruit cultivated at elevation while showcasing the essence of the Sierra Foothills appellation from a beautiful vintage. The nose shows a blend of vibrant red strawberries, Bing cherries, fresh tobacco, Turkish spice, leather, and mulberries that leads effortlessly into a tension-filled palate of red plums, cranberries, wild blueberries, and volcanic rock. Bright and powerful with fruit-forward tannins backed by a veil of acidity that provides lift and precision, this wine rounds perfectly to a smooth and energetic finish.

LEGACY OF REVERIE
Reverie’s story begins with Norm Kiken, a CFO from New Jersey, who fell in love with wine and followed his passion to Napa Valley. In 1993, Norm settled down in the northernmost part of the valley, and in 1996, Reverie produced their first vintage of wine. On a visit to the property in 2002, Grant Long Jr. met Norm and, inspired by his passion, seized the opportunity to help Norm build his brand.

After working with Norm for just under a decade and with Reverie thriving as a boutique winery, in true mentor style, Norm encouraged Grant to follow his vision of starting his own brand. Twenty years after the first vintage of Reverie was created, with Norm looking toward the next chapter of his life, what was once Norm’s dream was now a dream for another...
In 2017, the journey continued as Grant and his wife Megan purchased the historic winery estate that Reverie II now calls home. The 26-acre hillside estate, situated at the base of Howell Mountain, boasts sweeping views of vineyards and the Mayacama Mountains to the west.

Following in the footsteps of Reverie, Reverie II continues to focus on single vineyard wines, producing three Bordeaux-style mountain wines that have long been the cornerstone of Reverie’s wine-making tradition, along with three unique grape varietals rarely found in Napa Valley.
