Our 2019 Sommità Pinot Noir displays an immediate sense of the finer terroirs of Marin; cool summers, afternoon winds, and the ever-present morning fog. Fermented in small lots, each parcel for Sommità is chosen for its vibrancy and transparency. Aromatically, Sommità Pinot Noir offers bright tones of dried savory herbs and rose petal in a unique expression of the Skywalker property. On the palate, lively red fruits of cherry and cranberry mix with dark, woodsy tones of allspice and cedar. Highlighted by vineyard blocks that run across the upper-most ridge line of the estate, the palate offers a joyous sense of ripeness, pleasure, and harmony.

Sommità-Italian for ‘summit’- is the latest addition to our wine portfolio, cultivated high upon the ridge of the rolling hill landscape. Here, a confluence of cool winds elongates the growing season, concentrating flavor within the grapes and producing a wine with a complexity that tells a tale of tribulation and triumph.
