Diaries and Letters of William Emerson, 1743-1776. Minister of the Church in Concord, Chaplain in the Revolutionary Army. Arranged by Amelia Forbes Emerson. Second printing, 1973. William was the twelfth of the thirteen children of the Rev. Joseph Emerson of Malden, Mass., and was born in 1743. When 22 years of age, he received a call to the church in Concord whose minister, Daniel Bliss, had recently died. He boarded with Mrs. Daniel Bliss and within the year married her daughter Phebe. In the early 1770s, they moved to the Manse which he had built on the field beside the North Bridge. Hardcover with dust jacket, 150 pp. In good condition.
