Bookplate from a former owner is on inside front cover. Page edges are tanning only a bit. Black and white photographs are still nice.

This edition of The Maine Woods includes an introduction by Clifton Johnson, and not just his black and white photographs from Maine. It also includes useful appendices, listing the trees, flowers and shrubs, plants, birds, and quadrupeds mentioned in Thoreau's text. Also provided is "A List of Indian Words" and "Outfit for an Excursion." A nifty edition of a familiar book.
