Marla Johnson-ONeill

Marla Johnson-ONeill is a visual artist and architectural designer.  With a motto of “make life beautiful,” she is passionate about helping others create beautiful spaces to work, play, and live in.  

For 18 years, Marla lived in Indianapolis, where she ran her own hair salon and sold her large, modern artwork.  She also operated a freelance design/remodel business and later went joined one of the city’s best architecture firms, managing remodels and new builds.  Outside of working, her passions include fitness, playing outdoors, cooking, reading, and, most of all, family.

Marla moved to Nosara 4 years ago with her husband, Tony O'Neill, and baby dog Sophie.  Since relocating, she has conquered her fear of the ocean and shifted her artistic focus from abstracts to beach scenes to encapsulate the beauty and allow the feelings offered by nature to reside in the home. She manages design clients from her home office and paints in her art studio.  Marla frequently travels back to the US to work, visit family, play golf, and load up suitcases full of Trader Joe’s Maple Leaf cookies and all sorts of cooking ingredients and jungle staples.
