ARTIST STATEMENT

As an emerging self-taught artist, I, Cynthia Ross Tustin, find myself constantly captivated by the boundless realms of creativity that art offers. My chosen media is an eclectic blend of mixed media and encaustic paint.

The enthralling chemistry of the materials I use is as mesmerizing to me as the technical steps involved in the artistic process. My art is not confined to a single static medium; but rather an amalgam of ancient and modern. From the atavistic earthiness of beeswax and resin to contemporary AI-infused print-making.

My reason for making art is deeply rooted in a desire for personal exploration and expression. It is a way for me to connect with the world, to understand it, and to contribute to it in my unique way. Through my art, I aim to evoke emotions, provoke thoughts, and inspire others to see the beauty in the fusion of different mediums.
