About the Artist Stef Kuhn is a self-taught Swiss artist living in Costa Rica since 1982 where he has dedicated most of his time to painting. Jean-Michel Basquiat and Henri Matisse have been his most major inspiration ever. For his paitings he uses a wide palette of bright colors and works mainly with oil colors on canvas. In his first series titled "Bellas Mujeres", he painted colorful portraits of women. His second series is called "Playa Pelada". His home base is in Garza, Nosara, Costa Rica where he has his own atelier at Villa Matisse.
