Lawndale Student Project - "Empty Bowls" (Bundle 2)

Item Number: 270
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
These bowls were made as part of DII’s first-ever Ceramics I course at Lawndale, and were part of an event that was hosted at JT Genuine Sandwich Shop called “Empty Bowls”, where the money raised went to the Irving Park Community Food Pantry and DII’s growing Ceramics Program.
Students learned basic hand-building techniques and could create any shape bowl they chose. The students are from grade levels 9th-12th, and it took them approximately 6 weeks from construction, to the first firing, to glazing, and then the final firing.
Ms. Vazquez (DII Lawndale teacher of Ceramics I) is so proud of what these students accomplished because it was only their second project and they all dove in headfirst!
