Artist Statement:

Ocean of Color was inspired by my love of color and the repetition of shapes, mainly dots. Over 8,000 hand-cut pieces of colored pencils were used to create mosaics of color, texture, and patterns. Recent travels to Italy and Argentina have enhanced my artistic interpretation of the whale.

Artist Biography:

Susan j Schrader has been part of Marblehead's artistic community for over 24 years. Her art covers a myriad of mediums, ranging from paintings and wall sculptures to hand-painted ceramics. Her subject matter often depicts whimsical figures that are human-like to creatures of the land, air, and sea.
