This painting is part of a new series of portraits that I’m currently working on. In this series, I’m reaching back to my older folk art style of representation, and drawing on some of my favourite elements of that style, to create a new way to present my current work.
La peinture fait partie d’une nouvelle série de portraits sur laquelle je travaille. Pour cette série, je retourne à mon ancien style populaire de représentation et dessine certains de mes éléments préférés pour créer une nouvelle manière de représenter mon art actuel.
Special Instructions
After working as a self taught artist selling my work online, I studied studio arts full time at the Ottawa School of Art (2007 - 2009). I opened my studio practice at The Rectory Art House in 2011. Since then, my work has exhibited at Cube Gallery, Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts, Gallery Annexe, City Hall and the Shenkman Art Centre. My work is in the City of Ottawa Fine Art Collection.
D’abord artiste autodidacte vendant ses œuvres en ligne, j’ai ensuite étudié les arts visuels à temps plein à l’École d’art d’Ottawa (2007-2009). J’ai commencé à travailler en atelier à la Rectory Art House en 2011. Depuis, mes œuvres ont été exposées à la Cube Gallery, au Saint-Brigid’s Centre for the Arts, à la Galerie Annexe, à l’hôtel de ville et au Centre des arts Shenkman, en plus de se trouver dans la collection d’art de la Ville d’Ottawa.
