Description
Framed photograph of Barry the barred owl looking at her own reflection in the Bethesda Fountain, Central Park, by David Lei
Print size: 11.5x17.2 inches
This native barred owl, affectionately named Barry, was a local celebrity in Central Park, where birders delighted in her every move. After Barry's death, this photograph by David was celebrated for capturing both the curiosity and perceived loneliness of this beautiful owl.
David’s urban owl photographs have appeared in Audubon, the New York Times and many other media. He and his partner Jacqueline are currently working on a photography book about Flaco, the Eurasian eagle-owl, whom they lovingly documented throughout the bird's year of freedom in NYC.
