Description

Artist: David Rosolko

David has lived in Harwich for 4 years now. He was born in Malden, Mass. and lived for various times in Waltham, Dennisport, South Yarmouth, Wayland, Sudbury, Killington, Vermont, Hudson, MA, and Clinton.

Having earned his BFA at Massachusetts College of Art in 1978 has spent most of his career working as a Graphic Designer specializing in Photoshop and Illustrator. Currently Dave works part time at The Frame Shop on Whites Path in South Yarmouth (formerly The Harwich Frame Shop) where he has acrylic paintings and beach stone sculptures on display.

Being temporarily retired when moving to Harwich I spent much time roaming the Cape’s beautiful beaches from Race Point to Sandwich. It was then that I started designing and building my beach stone stone sculptures. Starting out with every possible sea creature native to the cape, whales, sharks, horseshoe crabs, lobsters, sea turtles, seahorses and mermaids, eventually creating many guitars of various makes.

One side of my whale is a “faux” version of my stone sculptures. Once I was happy with those results I thought I would try my hand at reproducing a “faux” stained glass scene.

I paint from my basement studio where I work on acrylic painting on canvas and masonite and design, cutout and assemble my beach stone sculptures. My work can currently be seen at the Frame Shop in South Yarmouth, Reciprocity in Harwichport and the 908 Bistro in West Yarmouth.

I can be reached at davidrosolko@gmail.com for commision consults or private showings at my studio in Harwich.
