A Cape Cod native, Sandy was born in Hyannis,

Massachusetts, and was raised in the Town of Yarmouth. She was interested in art as a young child.In High School, Sandy won the Maxton-Graham portfolio scholarship award for outstanding art work and was awarded a membership in the Cape Cod Art Association. During this period, she also received first place in print making and one of her prints was featured in “Jeep Magazine.” Sandy attended the University of Southeastern Massachusetts, where she studied fine arts and art education. Since graduation, Sandy has taught art in all grades from kindergarten through high school. She taught art in Yarmouth for 40 years and has since retired to paint.

She is a member of “Eastwind Gallery” in Orleans. You can see many original's in the gallery. Chatham “Whales in the Park” and “oars in the Stores are on display in the summer.

Sandy is currently an Artist member of the Cape Cod Art Association, Yarmouth Art Guild and The cultural Center of Yarmouth. She is currently a member of The Cape and Islands Art Teachers association. She has studied with Sam Barber and Arnold Desmarais in oil painting. Sandy continues to paint with oils as well as watercolors. Her Maritime style comes from her love of the ocean and appreciation of sailing.
