Description

Sharon McTavish hand dyed this stunning indigo pareo which measures 86” x 43”. It is of 100% soft cotton and is cool to wear as the fabric delicately moves in the gentle wind of Lawai.

The early Japanese immigrants created indigo dyed fabrics when they first arrived to Hawaii.
The indigo plant used in Hawaii is endemic to the region. The young volcanic soil on Hawaii island produces a lighter blue indigo, while the older soil on Kaua’i produces a darker indigo.
