What is a Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injection?

Platelet Rich Plasma can be taken directly from the patient's blood
which eliminates the risk of rejection. PRP is beneficial for regenerative
purposes for soft tissue or joint pain because the platelets contain
natural sources of growth factors, as well as proteins and cytokines
that stimulate healing. When used early on, PRP can be used to prevent more invasive procedures down the road.

What to expect:

You will start by meeting with our Nurse Practitioner. After the consultation she will perform an in office blood draw. Then your blood will be put in a machine that will separate red and white blood cells from your plasma. Your plasma would then be injected into your " problem area(s) by the nurse practitioner with ultrasound guidance.
