Explore Polynesia's only navigable stream on our fully equipped, stable, comfortable, and quality double kayaks. On your kayak adventure, you can meander upstream, where you first pass an old abandoned Hawaiian Village. Further up on the river's south fork, you can land at the Fern Grotto in the Wailua State Park. Secure your kayak at the dock and explore the beauty of the famous Fern Grotto. If you instead take the north fork of the river, you can land upstream and continue your expedition on foot through the pristine canyons and tropical rainforest of the Wailua River Valley interior to Uluwehi Waterfalls. No previous experience is necessary. There is usually little or no current occurring. Paddling upstream can actually be easier than downstream as you are assisted by a gentle tradewind blowing mauka (inland) toward the mountains.
