Description

Horse soldier bourbon
commanders select V
The "Commanders Select V" is an award-winning limited release by
Horse Soldier Bourbon, celebrated for its meticulous
craftsmanship and deep historical roots. This exceptional
bourbon is aged for 6 years before being finished in Tawny Port
barrels for an additional 18 months, which imparts a rich and
complex flavor profile. Each bottle is hand-picked by the
Commander and Chief Warrant Officer of Special Forces Team
ODA-595. It is packaged with a serial-numbered Commander’s
Challenge Coin, making it a collector’s item and a tribute to the
valor of the "Horse Soldiers."
The story behind Horse Soldier Bourbon runs even deeper. The brand
was founded by a group of U.S. Army Green Berets, known as the
"Horse Soldiers," who answered America’s call just days after 9/11. They
embarked on a daring mission into northern Afghanistan,
conducted entirely on horseback. Despite the odds, their remarkable
three-week operation successfully liberated the region from the
Taliban without the use of tanks or trucks, earning them their
legendary nickname.
Horse Soldier Bourbon was born from this legacy of bravery. After
their military service, the veterans—Scott Neil, John Koko, and wife
Elizabeth Pritchard-Koko—set out on a journey of discovery,
traveling to Yellowstone and then to distilleries in Kentucky,
Ireland, and Scotland. Their passion for distilling grew as they
learned from some of the best in the industry. This knowledge and
dedication culminated in the founding of American Freedom
Distillery in 2015, where they produce Horse Soldier Bourbon with a
commitment to excellence that echoes their military ethos.
Crafted from all-natural ingredients, aged to perfection, and
bottled in the heartland of America, Horse Soldier Bourbon is a
tribute to the resilience and spirit of the American soldier. The
bottles themselves are molded with steel from the World Trade
Center, adding another layer of profound significance to each sip
