Description

Mixed media

7" x 17.5" x 1"

Beverly Silva is a mixed media artist with a primary focus on collage. This medium allows her to combine her commitment to recycling and her passion for making art. Her ongoing series includes abstract cityscapes and torn paper collages. She also enjoys working with found and vintage materials. Silva is a member of the AAM, the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative and the International Society of Experimental Artists. She exhibits frequently in group and open juried shows.

"Cafe 2" is part of an ongoing series of mixed media cityscapes. Built intuitively with geometric shapes, limited palette, and textural elements, the artist's urban landscapes were influenced by years of living and working in the city. This piece does not portray a specific location, but seeks to capture the sights, sounds and pace of the urban environment.
