Charlie Ward and Bobby Bowden were both part of the Florida State Seminoles football team that won the 1993 NCAA Division I-A national championship.
This ball was signed by FSU coach Bobby Bowden and FSU quarterback Charlie Ward during the season before Charlie Ward won the Heisman Trophy and before Ward guided the Seminoles to an 18-16 victory over Nebraska in the Orange Bowl, giving FSU and head coach Bobby Bowden its first-ever national title. Only fifteen Heisman Trophy winners played on the National Championship team. 1993 was the eighth time.
Special Instructions
The ball was won by my daughter at a school rally at Raa Middle School in Tallahassee, Florida before the end of the 1993 season. She gave it to me for Christmas in 1993. The rest is history.
Ball has been in display case since 1993.
