Bringing years of experience working as a documentary photographer creating visual stories with a focus on the lives and experiences of women and girls, I am now shifting the focus of my photography work to pregnancy, birth, early childhood and parenthood. I approach each photo session with the sensitivity and experience I have gained, not just as a photographer, but also in my training as a full spectrum doula and in my own life as the mother of a wild and beautiful 5 year old child. Using both film (35mm and 6x6) and digital cameras, I create documentary style portraits and capture candid moments in whatever environment you feel most comfortable, usually in or around your home or another place that’s meaningful to you. The session will last around 90 minutes and can be tailored to your preference in terms of whether we do mostly candid shots or more portraits, who participates (partners, children, other family members or friends), as well as how much direction or guidance you want from me. Within a couple weeks after the session you’ll receive approximately 30-50 fully edited proofs to choose among.
