Playwrights Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon's The Shark is Broken follows the 1974 production of the movie Jaws as three Hollywood hot shots are stuck in a small boat in the open ocean with rapid waters and a mechanical shark. Egos collide as alcohol and tempers overflow on the way to creating cinematic magic. Shaw not only co-wrote the production, but plays his father, actor and screenwriter Robert Shaw.

The Shark is Broken played Broadway's Golden Theatre from July 25 through November 19, 2023.
