The show follows a single mother of a chronically ill son who uses humor and optimism to maneuver the complexities that come with being a full time caregiver. As she practically lives in the hospital, she unintentionally builds a support network with fellow women as a way to cope .

The Oscar-nominated McAdams made her Broadway debut in this production. She's also appeared in more than 40 films including The Notebook, Mean Girls and Spotlight.

Mary Jane played the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in 2023.
