Sunset Boulevard follows a movie star who desires to return to the big screen, a struggling screenwriter and their disastrous relationship. The musical zooms in on peoples ambitions and obsession with being in the limelight.

Previews began at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre on November 17, 1994, and featured an opening night cast that included Close, Alan Campbell, George Hearn and Alice Ripley. The musical won seven Tony Awards.
