This Playbill from the original Off-Broadway production of Assassins was signed by creators Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman and the cast. Sondheim, a Tony, Grammy and Academy Award winner, is one of theaters most legendary and illustrious composers and lyricists. Emmy Award-winning writer Weidman is beloved for his many collaborations with Sondheim.

Assassins follows the lives of the nine people who attempted to kill United States presidents. The musical explores the paths to these actions and the falling of their dreams which are shaped by American Culture.

The musical, whose cast included Victor Garber, Terrence Mann, Patrick Cassidy, Debra Monk, Greg German and Annie Golden, opened at Playwrights Horizons on December 18, 1990.
