Not a soul can resist Carmen’s seductive charm, not even the naïve Don José, who abandons his childhood sweetheart and his military career to follow her. But Carmen is a fiery gypsy with an appetite for smuggling and for powerful men. When she abandons him for a charismatic bullfighter, Don José’s infatuation turns to murderous obsession. What fate, or choice, waits for the woman no man can tame?

Carmen will be presented in a staged concert version with the orchestra on stage, fully visible to the audience and part of the landscape of the piece. Performers will be in full costume, revived from HOT’s 2017 production, so you can experience the depth of each character. There will be no set, but platforms will be combined with props and lighting to create an immersive, theatrical experience.
