Rob Blum graduated from Kenyon College with a degree in Studio Art. Rob spent his first few college years focusing on sculpture making before falling in love with the accessibility of painting.

After graduation Rob spent the next 15 years earning his living in the restaurant industry. Searching for fulfillment in a grueling industry Rob turned to bread making. The simple beauty and intrinsic enjoyment of a well made loaf of bread brought Rob to understand a true passion for artisanal goods.

After moving to the idyllic Vermont countryside Rob again found access to the tools, materials and space required to pursue sculpture once again. Combined with his new-found appreciation for the everyday goods that bring joy, Rob turned his attention back to sculpture making and became utterly enamored with woodturning.

These days when Rob’s not caretaking for his two wild children you can find him in the old wood shop near the top of Bald Hill turning, turning, turning, making some bowls.
