A stunning, unusual, attention-getting necklace

Carnelian (a semi-precious gem) and Turquoise necklace from Afghanistan – bought in support of Afghan women artists.

An impressive, beautiful pendant. 
Has 6 turquoise beads, 6 round carnelian beads, 2 long carnelian beads, 3 large round carnelian beads, one which is encased in a silver bezel.
Bezel is tooled with star patterns. 
Each bead is held by silver filigree holder. 20 polished wood beads lead to hook. Pendant secures in place with a strong looped ring.

Bought in the 1990’s. Length:  11.5 “ on each side. Center bead is 1.5” – total length is  24.5” .  (One could double up at the hook end to make shorter.)
