He competed in the inaugural Hester Series Contest at Spring Valley Skatepark in 1978, where he notably won the first one-wheeler event. After stepping away from skateboarding for over two decades, Marker returned to the sport and, around 2020, founded Deathracer413, a community of seasoned skaters in San Diego County. The group, known for its inclusive and energetic sessions, welcomes skaters of all ages and skill levels.
