Introducing Ray, one of our latest rescues.  Ray is a sweet cat, found by one of our rescuers. A call from a local animal control officer alerted Melrose Humane Society to another cat in distress.  Ray was discovered at 5 am on a front porch crouched behind some patio furniture.  In spite of the horrible condition of his eyes, he allowed our rescuer to approach and capture him.  

He was taken to a veterinarian later that same morning to have his eyes examined. Currently he is on eye and pain meds and anitbiotics to determine the correct course of treatment for him. It was obvious that Ray's eye were like this for quite some time.  Whether his owner moved and left him behind or neglected him or he just ran away and could not find his way back home, we'll never know.

Ray is one of the more challenging rescues MHS has come across this year.  Treatment and/or surgery for eye removal, if necessary, will be expensive. Please make a donation to help pay for Ray's treatment.
