The Watcher Beneath| Deep below the waters' surface, you never know who may be watching from the grass...

Note from the artist: I wanted to create a scene that showed the quiet, slow stillness of the deep ocean waters. An enormous creature swims by, as a passing water spirit gazes on. All made from painted Bristol paper, hand cut and placed (especially the scales) one-by-one. Finished bass is sealed for UV protection and ready to hang. On the back of the bass, you can see my original tracing paper drawing used to create the cut paper version you see on the front

Artist: Taylor Stone

Taylor is a local cut paper artist known for her magical, detail-driven artwork (all painted and cut by hand). Normally found at First Friday VH, the Vineyard Artisans or the Chilmark Flea Market, this marks her second year joining Bass in the Grass.
