Founded in 2015, the New City Microcreamery in the center of Hudson is an innovative ice cream/coffee shop that creates unique-flavored ice cream, beautifully baked confections, and seasonal combination beverages.

All of the ice cream is made with farm-fresh dairy from Mapleline Farm in Hadley, MA. A liquid nitrogen process is used to freeze the cream. After the scratch ice cream base has steeped in its flavor for 24 hours in the walk-in refrigerator, it is poured into a mixer. Then the base is slowly moved and the liquid nitrogen, which is less than 300 degrees, is introduced. The speed on the mixer is then increased to aerate the frozen cream and give it its lighter texture and mouthfeel. The super-cold liquid nitrogen creates a smaller ice crystal which gives the ice cream the smooth New City texture.

Ice cream cakes made to order are available with two layers of cake, two layers of ice cream, and an extra layer of sprinkles in the middle. The cakes are custom made in three different sizes with the cake and ice cream flavors you choose.

Yet people cannot live on ice cream alone, so at New City Microcreamery you will also find locally sourced coffee and pastries created by the in-house pastry chef. Breathe new life into your morning ritual with handcrafted lattes, cold brew, and oh yeah -- the wifi is free.
