Description

Senator Jamie Eldridge is our state senator, representing the Middlesex and Worcester District since 2009. Previously, he served 3 terms in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Senator Eldridge is an Acton native, and he graduated from the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, Johns Hopkins University, and Boston College Law School.

The Massachusetts State House, the state capitol and seat of government for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is located in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston. The building houses the Massachusetts General Court and the offices of the Governor of Massachusetts. The building, designed by architect Charles Bulfinch, the leading architect of his time, was completed in January 1798 at a cost of $133,333, and has repeatedly been enlarged since. It is considered a masterpiece of Federal architecture and among Bulfinch's finest works. It is a grand repository of history as well as an architectural treasure. With a cornerstone laid by Samuel Adams in 1795, and a dome coppered by Paul Revere in 1802, its marble-floored corridors and spacious ceremonial rooms are filled with works of art depicting our state's unique heritage. The State House has been designated a National Historic Landmark.
