This beautiful basket was made by hand using needles from the Florida long-leaf pine tree. The needles were gathered into bunches and wrapped with waxed nylon thread. As each layer of needles was added to the basket, the nylon thread was woven into a pattern called "candle in the window". Do you see the candles?
