Here is another beautiful quilt by Karen. This one shows a series of cascading triangles, mostly in shades of blue, but with some lime green, some orange, and some tan.

The column of triangles on the lefthand side of the quilt is totally filled in with colorful triangles, with no white space to be found. Proceeding across the quilt, there are fewer colorful triangles and more white spaces in each succeeding column, left-to-right, and in each passing row, top-to-bottom. Triangles are still cascading, but they are not connected to other triangles, and there many more white (empty) spaces.  

The quilt and its cascading triangles could depict a young person's life, at first full of promise but incomplete. Life becomes more complete as the person matures and gains new experiences, just as the cascading triangles will eventually fill in the empty spaces on the quilt.   

The cascading triangles part of the quilt is surrounded on all four sides by words of inspiration for a person's journey through life -- Courage. Inspire. Hope. Smile, laugh, and love. Today is a new day. Believe in yourself.

The quilt is backed by text in different sizes and fonts, with different drawings of hearts of many sizes and shapes. All of the sayings on the back of the quilt are about friendship. Maybe it is saying that as you journey through life, the friendships you form are the key ingredients for making a happy, complete life, that the focus as the triangles of your life fit together should be on making friendships along the way.
