Here is a beautifully carved and hand-painted decoy of a Common Loon with her day-old chick on her back. This decoy was handcrafted by Arthur I. Nyberg of Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1989.

The decoy measures 10.5 inches from bill to tail, 3.5 inches at its widest point, and 4 inches in height at the top of her head.
