This original piece is by Joseph Mushipi, a self-taught Zambian artist who now lives in East Providence, RI. "I paint with extraordinary attention to detail, with a particular eye for the warmth of animation and the small humors I observe in everyday life. I consider myself an African storyteller through my work, drawing inspiration from African folk-tales and experiences. I also tell the stories of animals through my art and have found great joy in this type of work since moving to the US.”

Joseph has won first prize at two juried art shows since arriving in Rhode Island, regularly exhibits at Waterfire in downtown Providence, and has had a piece on display at the Providence Art Club. Learn more at https://www.josephmushipi.com/
