"I find most of my inspiration traveling and interacting with other cultures and have learnt that people are more alike than different and there is wonder around every corner.  I am particularly drawn to spirituality, nature, and those people who live closer to the earth and find that people are similar no matter where we find ourselves. Many of the photographs are taken off the beaten track. I like to wander and witness in an unobtrusive way.

There is a curiosity behind the photographs, but sometimes one image does not suffice to complete the story.  Layering several images can better capture place, people, and culture.  Sometimes I do this by combining my wife’s work, Victoria Elbroch, with mine.  A photograph of Victoria’s mixed media drawing is layered with one or more of the photographs. When we return from our trips, we continue reliving our adventures through our collaborations."
