Description

Y Rousseau Wines 2020 Son of a Butcher Red Blend, Napa Valley, 1.5L Magnum

The "Je ne sais quoi" of red wines, ‘Son Of a Butcher’ Red Blend is a salute to Yannick's French heritage and an “homage” to the easy-going way of life in the South-West of France. Open a bottle any day of the week and enjoy the warmth of family and friends, and the delights of an everyday meal. Pépé and Yannick’s Dad (pictured, age 10, on the label in front of Pépé's butcher shop) would approve!

The softer side of Yannick Rousseau's favorite red grape, Tannat, and its amazing potential as a blending variety. Deep black cherry in color. Bright, complex, generous and profound with notes of baked blackberry pie, dry sage, white pepper, licorice, medium roast coffee, forest floor and subtle French oak. A supple, delicate roundness, full-bodied, sweet spices, pure dark berries, silky tannins and fresh long finish.

2020 SOB Red Blend is made by Yannick Rousseau, Y Rousseau Wines, and is a blend of 50% Tannat with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec. Yannick honors his French Gascon heritage with this Bordeaux blend with smooth tannins and a beautiful fruit nose from the Tannat influence. It has that “Je ne sais quoi” factor! Only 24 magnums made, not for retail sale. Drink now until 2032.

Y Rousseau Wines: Y. Rousseau Wines is a dream that began long ago in the South-West of France and continues to grow and evolve today. Yannick Rousseau, French native, founder and winemaker, followed his heart and passion for winemaking all the way to Napa Valley where he met his native-Texas wife, Susan. The two of them bring their combined entrepreneurial savvy to embrace the ebbs and flows of running a family winery with the legacy of their racines, hospitable style, and discriminating artisanship.
