The Duluth Inner Range Light was built on the South Pier of the Duluth Shipping Canal in 1901. The 70' skeletal pyramidal tower is topped with a cylindrical watch room and and an octagonal lantern. This lighthouse was originally fitted with a 4th order fresnel lens which was rotated by a clockworks mechanism, which is now displayed at the Lake Superior Marine Museum.
