Thomas Hubka's classic Big House, Little House, Back House, Barn: The Connected Farm Buildings of New England received the Abbott Lowell Cummings Award from the Vernacular Architecture forum. His research on this aspect of architecture aids historians in understanding rural farmscapes unique to New England, and especially this connected building type found in eastern New Hampshire.
