Description

A private, guided tour for up to ten people at the Jackson House in Portsmouth, NH -- a National Historic Landmark!

Jackson House is the oldest surviving house in New Hampshire and Maine. It was built by Richard Jackson, a woodworker, farmer, and mariner, when timber from the region’s abundant forests formed the basis of the economy. To highlight its fascinating construction methods, the home is shown unfurnished.

Jackson House Tours are approximately 60 minutes in length and focus on architecture, preservation, and social history. The tour will be conducted by me and Historic New England guide staff.
