Description

Come along for a walking tour of Hancock’s Historic Main Street and Meetinghouse!

Your tour will start at your tour guide, David Drasba's, home on School Street. Drasba, long-active in Hancock activities, is an award-winning architect and Preservation Alliance board member. From there, you'll take about a quarter mile walk to the Hancock Meetinghouse and discuss the history of the buildings along Main Street along the way. Next you'll go inside the Meetinghouse to hear about the 240-year history of the current Meetinghouse (1820) and the first Meetinghouse (1789). The tour will include the E. Howard & Company clock and the 1820 Revere & Son bell if participants are comfortable with climbing ships' ladders into the belfry.

Donated by David Drasba.
