Embroidered tunic by World-renowned Indian Designer Bhairvis Chikan

The Bhairvis Chikan mission is to honour, create, revive, and preserve traditional stitches, motifs, and craftsmanship. In 1998, Mamta Varma opened Bhairvis Chikan, a cooperative textile center to train and employ women and girls in the art of traditional chikan-style.  A frequent visitor to the International Folk Art Market, Varma is overwhelmingly loved by our community.  Owning a Varma tunic is a right of passage for every Santa Fean.
