Ronald Night Walker Yazzie (N. Cheyenne, Arapaho, Oglala Lakota, Navajo, Spanish Moor, Pawnee, Zuni, and Irish) is a multimedia Indigenous reservation artist. His Indian name is "Hidahwauhnisto" or Howling Buffalo. He paints from his experience in Indian country, his participation in ceremony, and knowledge of his ancestors and their struggles. He uses what he finds on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation where he lives: wood, stone, downed trees, fence posts, lapidary from the Big Horn Mountains, and bones or whatever he can find to create his masterpieces.
