Tyler Warren grew up in Southern California where he has loved art since a young age. He began drawing images to screen print on t-shirts that he would give to friends and sell out of his truck in high school. From there, he would draw on boards and design t-shirts, posters and other materials for different companies. Tyler had his first art show at the age of 18 in 2004. Since then, Tyler has had numerous exhibitions in Japan, Europe, Hawaii and more.
In 2011 at the age of 24, Tyler signed with one of the world’s largest surf brands, Billabong, as an artist and professional free surfer. Tyler shaped his first board at the age of 14 with two friends at the base of his friend’s driveway. Tyler shaped about one board a year for the next 10 years and on his 9th board, it really clicked and came out quite clean. Loving the way it rode, he made a few more for an art show he had in the back of a surf shop in 2009. These boards were all based off the mini-Simmons theory of a wide short round nosed 4’11’’ keel finned design brought to life by friend Richard Kenvin and San Diego shaper’s Joe Boeguess and Larry Mabile. People soon took notice of this odd-looking design as they were flying down the waves with effortless speed and glide.
Over the years, he has worked with Terry Martin, Midget Smith, Malcom Campbell, Chris Christenson, Gary Larson, Manuel Caro, Josh Hall, and Robin Kegel. These diverse influences have led Tyler to strive to shape, ride and evolve all types of surfboard designs from longboards to shortboards and everything in between.

PACKING & SHIPPING
Kindly note, that packing, shipping, and handling are not included - winning bidders are responsible for pick up and/or shipment of their board, including costs to package/ship. Boards can be picked up at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel or the purchaser can arrange for shipping. If shipped, we often work with a local UPS in Dana Point as the carrier. They have years of experience packaging/shipping our surfboards and do a wonderful job.
Pick up, packing, and shipping surf boards UPS Ground that are less than 7' costs approximately $500. Pick up, packing, and freighting surf boards that are more than 7' to 13' averages between $590 and $1,090. Kindly note, all surfboards longer than 7' can only be shipped by freight service. Additionally, please keep in mind the above values are only estimates and may be more or less, dependent on the board size and where it is travelling.
We strongly recommend that you inquire with our UPS Partner at (949) 248-9150 ext.0 to get a quote of how much shipping to your address will cost, as price varies due to location. If you arrange shipment with our UPS partner, we will handle the pick-up arrangement with them but will need to know your shipping address and phone number. They will be in touch directly to confirm packaging/shipment costs. The hotel does not manage this. If you prefer to use a different carrier, you will need to arrange pick up directly with the carrier from the resort and next steps.
Boards will be available for pick-up and shipping after Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Boards must be picked up no later than Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
