In 1920, twenty-year-old James F Turner emigrated from Saint John's Newfoundland to begin his career on the Boston Fish Pier. Hard work and a relentless passion for quality soon made "Big Jim" a leader in New England's booming seafood industry. In 1954, Turner Fisheries opening coupled with the rapid expansion of the commercial airline industry made "Turner" the nationally recognized name for fresh quality seafood. One hundred years and four generations later, the Turner reputation endures guided by its family mission, "to serve you the freshest, best tasting seafood you've ever eaten!" Whether you are a wholesale, restaurant, retail, or online customer, come experience how seafood shipped daily from our docks to your plate creates the finest, most authentic New England seafood experience on the planet.
Hawthorne Hotel
Enjoy a meal at The Tavern or Nathaniels at the Hawthorne Hotel!
The Hawthorne Hotel invites hotel guests, locals, and visitors to Salem to relax in our cozy Tavern. The wood-burning fireplace, oak-paneled walls, winged back chairs and views of the Common make The Tavern one of Salem's most inviting restaurants. Our menu, available all day, offers options for kids, gluten-free and vegans.
The Tavern at The Hawthorne Hotel
Nathaniel's restaurant at the Hawthorne Hotel offers a perfect start and end to any day. The morning hours are bright with the wall of windows and the plates are creative; the Smoked Salmon bagel and the Hearty Hawthorne are favorites. In the evening, Nathaniel's transforms into a lounge-like atmosphere, with candles, live piano and acoustic entertainment or ambient music playing from our brass gramophone. Sit beside the baby grand piano, beneath the famed author's portrait, or in front of the historical culinary tribute cabinet and you will find there is a reason our guests have loved Nathaniel's for decades.
