Description

Cape Cod, by Henry David Thoreau. With illustrations from sketches in colors by Amelia M. Watson. In two volumes. Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1896. Borst A 5.3. Olive colored cloth bindings with gilt titles and decoration, gilt top edges, and ribbon bookmarks. The feature here is Amelia M. Watson's beautiful watercolor illustrations.

Both volumes have sun-faded spines and slight foxing on the endpapers. Volume I has a title page that has separated from the binding. The pages are relatively clean, with only slight aging on the edges or at the gutter stitching. Presumed first owner signed both books with signature and year of 1907. A lovely gift for any lover of Cape Cod, the book or the place.

Please note that if the Reserve Price is not met, this set will not sell.
